Casting News: "Ghostbusters" and "Star Trek 3" First Looks + Much More

I’ve been lagging on casting news! I’m sure there’s been more than this, but here’s what I’ve stashed up over the weeks.

If you loved Columbiana, the sequel’s coming!

First look photos of The Secret in Their Eyes, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman are out, as well as the trailer, which looks very good:

Star Trek 3, directed by Justin Lin, released a first look, which is really more of a close-up of a Starfleet patch:

ABC Family has a semi-diverse cast for its tech reality competition Startup U

The poster for The Perfect Guy has been released:

Honestly speaking; the poster reminds me of Addicted, which I’m sure is intentional. Also, here are some first look pictures from the film:

The Walking Dead has released new pictures from Season 6, and there are trailers for The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead from San Diego Comic-Con!

Anthony Mackie is going to play Martin Luther King, Jr. in HBO’s adaptation of the Broadway play All the Way.

Donald Glover’s FX show idea Atlanta has been cast and the pilot will be directed by Hiro Murai!

Ellen Page will star in and produce Freehelda lesbian civil rights drama based on the documentary about Laurel Hester and Stacie Andree, who fight for Hester’s pension rights after she becomes terminally ill. Page will play Andree opposite Julianne Moore, who’ll play Hester. Page will also star in independent Iraq War drama Lioness

Marisa Tomei is joining Empire Mimi Whiteman, a venture capitalist, lover of hip-hop, and, according to the title of the Vulture article, a lesbian. The rest of the article doesn’t state this, though. Other Empire casting news includes Kelly Rowland playing Lucious’ mother (I’m assuming in a flashback).

Michael K. Williams is joining the casts of  Assassin’s Creed and Ghostbusters! Speaking of Ghostbusters, here’s a first-look image of the Ghostbusters ladies:

Here’s another image as well. At first, I thought the jumpsuits looked ugly. But I do have to say that I’m glad they’re actually jumpsuits and not form-fitting sexist machinations posing as “jumpsuits.” mechanic/plumbing/electrical jumpsuits are supposed to be ugly and utilitarian, and I’m glad to say these fit the bill.

The Neighbors star Toks Olagundoye is joining Castle as a regular!

Elodie Yung has been cast as Electra in the second season of Daredevil!

The poster and first look images for Into the Badlands have been released:

Entertainment Weekly released a clip from Viola Davis and Jennifer Lopez’s Lila and Eve.

Cornelius Smith, Jr. has been brought on as a regular for the upcoming season of Scandal! I think he’s taking the Harrison “Brolivia Pope” role.

A clip from Paper Towns features new young actors Jaz Sinclair and Justice Smith.

PHEW! Done. Write what you think of all this in the comments section and make sure to follow COLOR on Facebook and Twitter!
