Sleepy Hollow is continuing its upward trend with “Spellcaster.” Even though there was one thing I always knew would be revealed in this episode, there was one thing I wasn’t counting on: Evil Irving.
If you’re new to the game, get used to the name Abhi Sinha. Sinha is currently on ABC Family’s hit show Chasing Life as Danny, the jerk-ish journalist who’s always trying to one-up April (Italia Ricci). Sinha is also hoping he can be one of the actors in Hollywood that makes the industry better for others.
I was excited to talk with Sinha about his role on Chasing Life, his life before acting and how he feels about representation in Hollywood. Chasing Life airs Mondays at 9/8c on ABC Family.
David Oyelowo is proving why I made him an MOC Monday post. This guy not only knows when to help folks who’ve made mistakes (i.e. his buddy, Benedict Cumberbatch), but also when to hold people to task for racially-charged selective memories. Today, Oyelowo took the Academy to task for their penchant for only awarding black actors who take on “subservient” roles.
Orlando Jones has the honored position of being the MOC Monday man of the day! The accolade couldn’t come at a better time, since it would seem that Jones’ Sleepy Hollow character, Frank Irving, is back from the dead and will (hopefully) be back on Team Witness! In any event, we can see Jones use his dramatic skills in full force once again.
EDITED TO INCLUDE VIDEO
Black History Month is here and believe it or not, the BHM kick-off party happened on Saturday Night Live. Not only were there tons of jokes about racial appropriation (that scathing Iggy Azalea joke, the digital short about the “true” biopic about Jay-Z starring Mike O’Brien, aka a white dude on SNL, and other white dudes, including the host J.K. Simmons, as Kanye and Nas), but there was also D’ANGELO. And boy did he not disappoint.
How many Jimmy Olsen superfans are there out there? How many are upset that Mechad Brooks, a black actor, is playing him in the new CBS show Supergirl?
Leave it to Tom Mison, the master of giving away too much in interviews, to decisively break the Sleepy Hollow fandom with his latest interview with TV Guide. In the video, which is about Abbie/Ichabod vs. Katrina/Ichabod, Tom says some serious verbage about how Ichabod really feels about Abbie.
I got back on Twitter today to find out that yet another hashtag has come up, but this one has me really confused, especially since I’m not a Grey’s Anatomy viewer. Apparently, there’s a hashtag called #ShameonShonda. Why are we on Shonda Rhimes’ case yet again?
Disney is making historic ground once again with their Princess line of merchandise and programming. Ground that should have been covered eons ago. But in any event, let’s congratulate Disney on introducing the first Latina princess to its roster. Hooray!
