Earlier in the Fall 2014 television season, I wrote about Jane the Virgin, but since I started my new site, I thought it pertinent to republish my initial thoughts on this fun CW show based on the popular telenovela Juana la Virgen.
Disney is adding to their POC film collection with their upcoming film Moana. The film revels in Polynesian lore and culture and features female protagonist who goes off in search of a mysterious land.

Can we all collectively agree that “Mama” was the most satisfying Sleepy Hollow episode in the entirety of this show’s short run? This was certainly the episode the fans were asking for, and it couldn’t have come at a better time! (Let’s also be thankful that they had this episode in the pipeline, because if they didn’t, the fans would be even angrier than before right now.)
As I’ve written in my “Fandom Strikes Back” article, the Sleepy Hollow writing team got a severe wake-up call from fans and press. Let’s thank our lucky stars that the next episode in the line-up is “Mama,” featuring Abbie and Jenny (and their mom!) front-and-center.

In this episode, Andre and Rainbow decide it’s time to teach their kids the value of a dollar. But are their kids actually “spoiled” like Andre believes, or are they just “comfortable”?
After his kids (and Rainbow) bail on him at the Beef Plantation, Andre comes to the not-so-reasonable conclusion that his kids are spoiled. Or, maybe it’s not so unreasonable—it is Andre and Rainbow’s combined income and their desire to give their kids more than what they had growing up. That leads to maybe not spoiled kids, but comfortable kids. Most of us are “comfortable” nowadays. Just like many of your parents out there, my dad also made sure my siblings and I had more than he had growing up, even leading him to give us comically sized portions for dinner. I just wrote I don’t like buffets. I’m clearly a “comfortable” person who can relate to these kids.

I did not see Lifetime’s Aaliyah movie, produced by Wendy Williams, who took up the helm after Zendaya left the project and it seemed like Lifetime was going to shelve the project. It would seem that she should have let the project die its natural death, since the end result was hundreds and thousands of fans rallying up as one to denounce the film and Lifetime’s casting choices of Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Timbaland, R. Kelly and others.
What a time the Sleepy Hollow fandom has had. I’ve got to say, speaking honestly, I’m pooped.
If you’ve not followed everything concerning social media and Sleepy Hollow, I’m afraid I’m not going to fill you in myself. Instead, I’ll let TV Juriste, Salon and Entertainment Weekly fill it in for you. Basically, people have just about had it with Sleepy Hollow‘s first quarter of the second season.
I don’t know if that was an episode for the ages, but that scene was Bonnie and Annalise was a scene for the ages! Before I salivate over that scene, let’s get to the quick synopsis of the plot.
