Disney is adding to their POC film collection with their upcoming film Moana. The film revels in Polynesian lore and culture and features female protagonist who goes off in search of a mysterious land.

The film is CG, which I almost see as a bummer because I feel like this would look really cool traditionally animated, but fans of the old school will be excited to know that, as Entertainment Weekly states, John Musker and Ron Clements, who helmed classics like The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, are leading the film’s team. Hooray!

Here’s what we can expect from the film. Moana, a teenage girl, is described as a “born navigator” who leaves her home and “sets sail in search of a fabled island.” On the way, she joins forces with demi-god Maui and have the adventure of a lifetime. The two end up “encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds, and ancient folklore,” according to Disney’s official spiel.

Moana will make its debut in theaters nationwide Nov. 23, 2016. Are you already marking your calendars? Write about this film in the comments section below!
